Well, first of all let me just say that I know how it feels when your parents are on-and-off (I actually never met my real dad and the other one was not exactly nice to my mom).
I know for a fact that when two people don't get along like this, it's a very, VERY bad idea to get back together.
You've seen it yourself, your dad can be a good, responsible person if he wants to, but your mom did something that no proper mom would do: abandon her children.
From the moment she did something like this you should never EVER trust her to run your family again.Honestly man, just don't.
If she crossed the line in your head, then that's it, like when my dad crossed the line by hitting my mom..some things cannot be forgiven, period.
My other father has now left, but if one day he returned and wanted us all to get back together as a family I'd never let him, because it just doesn't work like that.
The one thing you are to blame for is not actually doing anything about that situation (when your mom was "cheating" on your dad)..when something like that happens, you have to act quickly or everything is going to hell.
So yeah, you should have a talk with your dad about this and tell him how you feel.
